Ant Group's Expert Visited Toast Lab with a Seminar

Dr Quanqing Xu visited Toast Lab and gave a seminar at the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST), ShanghaiTech University on 10 May. The seminar was titled OceanBase Paetica: A Hybrid Shared-nothing/Shared-everything Database for Supporting Single Machine and Distributed Cluster. During the seminar, Dr Xu shared his distinguished experiences of developing Oceanbase with the renowned team in Ant Group.

Dr Quanqing Xu received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 2009. Currently, he is working with the Research Institute, Ant Group. He used to be a Research Scientist with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and an Adjunct Faculty Member with the Singapore Institute of Technology. His research interests include blockchain, database systems, and distributed systems. He is a fellow of Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and a Senior Member of IEEE, ACM, and the China Computer Federation (CCF).
